Clinique Dentaire de la Jeunesse

In Switzerland, the school dentists, a cantonal or communal public service, is the basis for the prevention and treatment of the young generation. This service guarantees the same opportunity for all children to keep a healthy dentition through life independently of their parent’s social status.

The School Clinic for Dentistry in Geneva is named “Clinique Dentaire de la Jeunesse” (CDJ).
It provides:

  • Dental health education for the 33,000 pupils in the public junior schools, with specialized educators
  • A free dental check up for the pupils of public middle schools by the AMDG dentists.
  • Specialized dental care of high quality at reasonable fees adapted to the social conditions of the families.

The CDJ works in network

  • With Geneva private dentists, members of the AMDG, for a free check up at the end of mandatory schooling.
  • With paediatricians in private practice and school nurses specially trained for detecting dental problems in preschool children.

The CDJ offices are situated in certain areas of Geneva (see www.ge.ch/cdj) and mobile offices visit the villages in the canton.
